Ask a Community Deck Author!

Hi everyone,

It’s been at the back of my mind for a while that many users might want to give feedback to the authors of community decks.

For example, maybe:

  • you have a question about the deck or something in it,
  • you noticed something that could do with being tweaked,
  • you have a suggestion about how to expand/change the deck,
  • you have a request for a new deck, or even
  • you just really like a deck and want to give the author a thumbs up :+1:

So you can let us know on this thread!

Please note that only certain authors might want to get feedback, and some authors might not even be active on the site anymore!
So here is a list of authors who have said they’re open to receiving feedback on this thread:

@bunnypro @Myriamn @chicharron @zijiezhao @rdennison7 @sythe

Authors, just let me know if you’d like to be listed here, and of course you can withdraw at any time too if you wish!

By the way, you can find a new unit for “Mountain Day” (11th August) in my “Japanese Festivals and Holidays” deck here!

I’m not learning with Community Decks myself, but I want to express my gratitude nonetheless. Your effort makes Bunpro the great community it is today.

Thanks all!

Created several decks for lyrics, and I’m also open to receiving feedback. Feel free to share with me your favorite songs as well! I’ll probably be creating more lyrics decks in the future (huge JPOP fan).

Thanks a lot! I’m working my way through your song decks, though actually I still haven’t listened to the songs yet :joy:

Is this a requests thread too?

I ask that someone create a katakana only deck for the N5/N4/N3/N2/N1 bunpro vocab decks, but especially the N5 one.

I have friends who want to do katakana words for training paired with Wanikani, but find it annoying to click through individually.

(btw, +1 to the textbook decks, especially for vocab. they were great paired with Bunpro to help me pass the N4!)

Okay, toss me into the ring. Here’s a link to my deck

If I done goofed and for some reason if people use it enough to tell me, I wanna fix that ASAP.

Might be good linking the authors to their respective decks in the OP.

Sure, good idea, and feel free to ask – just we can’t guarantee that anyone will necessarily oblige! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
I’ll edit the OP to reflect it.

I’ve previously tried to make katakana decks, but there were so many words that the system got so overloaded that I couldn’t finish them due to loading, loading, …

Great, thanks! I’ll add you to the OP

It’s a nice idea to link to authors’ respective decks – I’ll have a think about how it could be done.
(It could be something that might need to be updated frequently and rely on authors letting me know when they make a new deck and/or me going through manually periodically to check when new decks have been published  )

Added to the original post – thanks!

I’d also like to use this thread to publicise new decks / units / any changes made to decks:

You can find a new unit for Obon in my “Japanese Festivals and Holidays” deck here:

Big thanks to everyone making content!

晩餐歌 by tuki would be awesome :star_struck:

Just a heads up that you can find/message authors of decks by clicking of the author of the deck within the deck itself and then clicking on their forum link within their profile. This only works if the user’s forum account is linked to their Bunpro account though.

That’s great to know!

As suggested in this thread, I’m reaching out to @sythe about the groceries deck, there’s this word which i think was added because of watermelon, however this version of the word is not about the fruit.

Deck’s word: https://bunpro.jp/vocabs/%E5%9E%82%E4%B8%8B?deck_id=1819

I would really love to see a deck for drilling on the traditional, cultural Japanese phrases like “いただけます” and “おだいじに,” etc. I’m really weak on knowing when to say what as well as how to say it correctly.
