I would argue that the weighting system currently is significantly weighted towards doing reviews and doesn’t give as accurate of a picture of what my progress is as I try and move towards less SRS and more listening and reading.
I propose a new way of measuring distance which I will use:
1 grammar review - 5 cm
1 vocab/kanji review - 1 cm
1 minute listening - 1 m
Each reading passage/short article/manga page = 1 cm - 3 m (rate yourself)
I will begin with this system today.

Keeping track of centimeters feels more complicated than I want to try and manage. I think we already have a system for more intensive learning sessions that’s more in line with the Amazing Race thread that inspired this one.

As the badger said, going into centimeters is overcomplicating the system. I don’t really understand what you mean by saying that it don’t give you accurate picture of your progress. That topic isn’t a race or competition that measure who tryhards learning more. We are here to just motivate ourselves, see that we are a part of something bigger and to remind that even small study amount gather towards huge number. That’s why we can change the point system little bit but I don’t think that it need to be updated regularly to be balanced.

@Noxsora Do you ever watch with japanese subs? Not sure whether your ‘no subs’ category means no English subs or no subs at all. I’ve found that for me it is the best of both worlds when it comes to balancing comprehensibility and challenge, as well as getting a the opportunity to practice listening and reading at the same time. YMMV, of course.
