I’m going to have to make a kikis delivery service themed “get out of jail” card haha
FYI I finished this book a few months ago, so if y’all get into it and find anything you can’t decipher, feel free to summon me.
We’ll rely on your answer delivery service
Would love to participate
Sure, I’m in. I voted for a chapter a week but I’m up for whatever. Gotta finish 告白 before this starts.
For those who want to get ahead and prime themselves for some vocab from the book:
Or, currently for Chapter 1 only:
I’d like to participate as well.
I would definitely like to participate. I’ve had the book for a while now, but haven’t been able to work up the courage to actually try and read it yet. This might be just the kick in the pants I need.
I’m unsure if my Japanese is good enough, but I would try
Oh I love the movie, definitely want to join. I’ve been reading Harry Potter on my own for a while so hopefully I’ve picked up some magic-related vocab that will make this easier!
I would be up for this. I just started Gene Mapper - Full Build, but I tend to lose focus without book clubs to keep me on track.
Thanks for posting links to these, I wasn’t sure if there was already a deck on Bunpro!
For those who use JPDB, here’s a link to the volume one deck.
For those who use Anki, it looks like there was a deck set up a few years ago when a group on Wanikani ran a book club. It looks like it’s not as comprehensive, but sharing as well in case it’s helpful: Anki: 魔女の宅急便. If anyone is able to find a more complete deck, please feel free to share!
When are you planning to start this book club?
Dec 28th (Japan time).
I actually just started reading this book a couple weeks ago. I am on chapter 6, there’s lots of words that I still don’t understand but, I do understand the overall theme and content of it. A book club sounds great!!!
No idea how a book club works but I’m interested in reading along. Don’t think I’ll manage to get a physical copy in time but doesn’t seem too expensive on bookwalker.
I’ll join in
I have a copy lying around and 10 pages per week is doable
Ordered a copy of the book since I’m a fan of physical books, so that should be here well before the 28th. Looking forward to this!
on learnnatively it’s tagged “full furigana” but the amazon etc “previews” don’t have furigana.
does anyone if there’s actually a full furigana version or if it’s mistagged?
My kanji is still too bad to even try reading a book without it.
