It’s amazing to think of a metal rabbit, isn’t it!

TIL that 穴兎 = European rabbit. Now I see why Alice going into rabbit holes makes her enter a different wonderland universe altogether.
It really makes you think about the difference between 穴兎 and 兎の穴, doesn’t it
I’m willing to separate synonyms further so, for example, you would only encounter one word for “rabbit” per unit!
Already “ラビット” and “兎” are in Unit 1 “Bunnies”, whereas “占子” is in Unit 4 “Advanced Rabbiting”, but maybe spreading them out further could help
Let me know if it would help you learn even more about rabbits!
To hopefully reduce confusion, I’ve adjusted the order slightly so that:
“家兎” (domestic/tame rabbit) still appears in Unit 1 “Bunnies”, but now
“飼兎” (domestic European rabbit) appears in Unit 4 “Advanced Rabbiting”!
I hope it helps everyone learn about rabbits better!
At the start of every month, it’s considered lucky in many countries to say, “White rabbits!”
Make this the first thing you say this February, in Japanese!
