About this, it is interesting how ‘mitral valve’ has been rendered in Japanese: 僧帽弁. A mitre is famously known to be the headgear the Pope wears and the valve is called thus due to its shape, similar to a mitre. In Japanese it has been expressed as 僧帽, monk’s cap. Nice!
The ‘tricuspid valve’ is more straightforward, 三尖弁 being almost a literal rendering.
