I’m back! I really appreciate this thread. I’m at a stage in my nihongo studies where I need to start using the things I learn (aka reading ). It’s intimidating but this thread reminds me I actually know enough to participate!

The best way I’ve found is to just start reading. There’s a daily reading practice here made by one of the VA’s of Bunpro. I went the route of using https://learnnatively.com/ to find books I was comfortable with to start reading. I’m currently on volume 8 of からかい上手の高木さん. It’s really fun once you start to understand it and feel all the pieces start to connect. There’s also sites like https://easyjapanese.net/ if you’re wanting to start from somewhere. Good Luck!
^ this but also read stuff you want to read. It’s OK if it’s too hard for you at the moment, it will still be a learning experience!
