Hi, I’m relatively new to Bunpro (a few months in), and I am confused about a number of things — although I think a lot of it will come to me as I continue to use the site.
However, I couldn’t find anyone posting about this particular issue, so I decided to post here.
So, you know at the top of a review there are usually words at the top of the screen (above the sentence where you fill in the blank). They often say things like “polite” or “standard” or “emphatic” and plenty of other stuff. One of these is “non-negative past.”
Do you know what that means? I can’t figure it out. For this particular review the answer is 行けなきゃいけない or some variation of that. It’s definitely not past tense, and I guess the non-negative could refer to the fact that it seems negative (行けな。。。), but that is negated by the additional negative (いけない)?
Also, I’d love to know if there is some guide on the other parts of speech that are listed at the top of these reviews (and sometimes listed in the blanks where the answer goes). I’m a native English speaker, but I don’t know what all of them mean. I think at least some of them are Japanese language specific (“trend,” “adjectivization,” “request,” “restrictive.” Is there a somewhere I can see all of the ones that Bunpro uses?
Thanks if anyone can help.
