For sure, I definitely agree that there are processes involved for creating an environment in which the best learning can take place. That is also 100% the kind of tool that we want to create as well.
This is one of the hardest things to deal with as a staff member to be honest. Especially when users themselves feel like there is some kind of fissure. There have been many times in the past (even before I was working here) that people have expressed concerns about things that aren’t getting worked on (I am guilty of expressing these concerns myself!), or misaligned priorities. When in actual fact many of those things may be exactly what the staff were/are working on at that very moment.
Being heavily involved in the community, as we are, it would be great if we could address every single concern with ‘hey don’t worry about that, (insert product name) is actually almost ready for release’. But from a business perspective we simply cannot do that every single time, which creates an unfortunate misrepresentation that we aren’t doing something. We do communicate a great deal of what we are currently working on with everyone, but we will continue to endeavor to communicate things in a way that don’t leave people guessing about other projects.
