Should vocab have its own XP system?

I don’t really care about the leveling stuff, but two days ago I had some grammar points go into seasoned 2 or whatever it is called for the first time. That gave me a ton of XP. It was around 20 grammar points and that alone made me jump from level 26 to 33.

I don’t know if vocab bring a lot less XP, but if it is anything the same with the more than 200 katakana vocab I’m doing at the moment. I’ll be at level 60 soon. Maybe a change would be a good idea

It would also be nice to raise the max level if possible. I’m about to finish N2 in grammar and vocab and I’m already at level 98 (doesn’t update on the forums for some reason as well?) Through N1 I will just be stuck at level 100.

You have to enable the current level on your forum profile. It’s called “Flair” under Preferences.

For me this is exactly why I brought this topic up to begin with, not because of levels displayed on the forum (although that is still part of it) but because I bet it isn’t exactly motivating to reach the maximum level and then still be adding grammar (and maybe vocab) for months afterwards. At the very least it is a weird design choice.

Tangential to this topic but I also feel like there should be badges for mastering each JLPT level and not just adding all the points for them. Adding the grammar is a milestone in itself but by the time you master it you should actually know it which is the real goal here.

The overall level doesn’t do it for me as much as the bars for each JLPT level that’s shown in our profile page. I feel the need to have them filled up all the way. It’s probably because I’m obsessive compulsive, lol.

I believe you can go higher than level 100.
Try it and see what happens :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
