Alright, top 10 tips for reducing a queue
- Turn off / delete all ghosts until your queue is empty. The queue is already scary enough.
- If you have absolutely no confidence in getting something right in the next 2-3 attempts, reset it and relearn it after the queue is gone.
- 30 minutes a day, see you in 2-3 months (this kept me going sooo many times in the Wanikani level 40 days)
- ok, 30 minutes is up, you still feel great - do another 30… and another. If you feel good, don’t limit your time.
- set the sort order to high SRS first - at least this way, you know words won’t be coming back as quickly, but prepare to get all the low SRS level ones wrong
- set the batch amount to 10 or 20 or so and complete sets instead of basing your reviews on time
- complete a set after each round of whatever degenerate gatcha game you’re playing right now (please tell me it isn’t the horses that aren’t even horses game… they literally run… can’t it just be runners?! I don’t get this fad at all)
- Pavlov’s dog yourself into associating reviews with food so that you do reviews after each meal ~ 美味しい!
- Literally do not go to the forums here until those reviews are done. So many people would rather post top 10 lists than finish their review queues. Not me, though. I’d never do that!
- Give up! Just kidding…? Seriously though, if it’s stressing you out, be very generous about just resetting / relearning individual items or entire decks
