Is anybody able to explain what I did wrong here? I’m still a little new to typing Japanese in keyboard, so no doubt it’s my fault on this.
You wrote shiyai しやい instead of しゃい
To avoid this, make sure you just type “shai”
Another way to do it is to type “shixyai”. An x will make the following kana miniature. しゃい.
However that’s generally more effort and I only use it for irregular small kana like ドゥ
