A question about the study question 「彼女は____たよ。」

How are you supposed to enter the answer here? It wants the past tense verb for leave, but wants just the " さっ" portion as the response, rather than " さった". So, is the intended input here to have to type a double consonant after “sa” on keyboard by typing /xtu/? (I know how to do this on mobile flick, which is easier than remembering this keyboard shortcut to enter just the “っ”).

Simplified: Why are we made to input さっ here and not さった? It’s weird and the first time I’ve encountered this in the system.

Typing x + つ will give you っ !

xtu gets turned to っ yes, I think its the shortest input way to type it.

Thanks peeps-- I was able to search how to type it and explained I knew that in the top post (I guess I was misleading with the opening sentence). What I’m curious about is why this answer is unlike others I’ve entered until this point, where instead of typing the fully conjugated verb, I’m only entering the " さっ" portion.

Meanwhile me, always writing [tta] or [kka] or anything of this kind and hitting backspace anytime I need a small

typically, if you file answers who need to end on a っ as a bug on the interface, they will fix it, because it’s not intended behaviour. Normally the whole word is accepted as an alternate answer, too - simply because it’s easier to type.

I think the reason for only writing “さっ” on not “さった” is that you already have “た” in the sentence ( _たよ). I’m new to this so I might be wrong

さった would be 1 thing and よ would be ender (I’m N4~ so might be wrong).
linking the grammar point would probably be helpful, to someone somewhere.

EDIT: These are updated. :fire: I figured it out from the title of the post. In the future, feel free to submit things like this via feedback and we can get them fixed! :o:

Hey! I can update this for you if you let me know the vocab word! I’m guessing it’s 去る, which is an A-deck word. Those haven’t all had their formatting finalized yet, so that’s probably the issue. Just let me know! :sunglasses:

you can also write ltsu (little tsu) also works for other little kana

Perfect! Thank you for clarifying-- I’ll keep an eye out in my future reviews and be sure to submit any I notice! =)

That’s okay-- I was seeking feedback on the irregular input for this particular question, not the answer to the question as it was in the system (and has now been addressed by Jacob, through this thread). I understand the grammar point and the vocabulary; this wasn’t a discussion to resolve that.
