The answer is 「何を仰いました？」 Why does 仰る conjugate to 仰い instead of 仰り?

originally it indeed was and 仰る yet over the years, japanese kept ommitting [r] because spelling those keigo verbs were quicker and overall easier without them. And so it came to this
it’s not just 仰る that conjugated into 仰います there are also:
いらっしゃる ー いらっしゃります － いらっしゃいます
下さる ー くださります － くださいます
なさる ー なさります － なさいます
ござる ー ござります － ございます
