A question about the 練習問題 「鳥が空を____。」

For the word 飛ぶ …
足()をつかて空中()に移動()すること。または羽()を使()って空中()を移動()、滑空()すること。

What is つかて here? If it is possible please share the dictionary entry, or it’s kanji version.

Hi!

The only thing that I can think from the top of my head is that it is a typo and it should say つかって (使って in kanji, 使う in its dictionary form).

Does that make sense to you?

I’ve been trying to remember any birds that fly using legs for a whole minute, before remembering that jumping is also とぶ.

浸かる・浸ける

足()をつかて空中()に移動()すること。または羽()を使()って空中()を移動()、滑空()すること。

To use leg force in order to propel oneself into the air, or to travel through the air by using one’s wings or by gliding.

There’s the answer.

Hi!

浸かる is 自動詞, though. It would work with 空 (e.g. 空に浸かる) but not with 「足を」. Furthermore, it would still be 浸かって.
