After finishing the N2 grammar points and learning a thousand ways to say “however” (でも、しかし、しかしながら、ところが、が、けど、それでも、それにしても、もっとも、それにしても、それなのに、etc.) I came across the expression だからと言って, which is listed as a vocab rather than a grammar point.
So I was curious, is there a specific criteria for considering some expressions as grammar points, while others are only considered vocab? Or is it somewhat arbitrary?

The short answer to this is that Bunpro grammar points are based on things that generally happen to be considered ‘grammar’ in other popular resources or the JLPT.
The longer answer is that ‘grammar’ is quite a nebulous term, with a large amount of it being context specific words/phrases. In that sense it is arbitrary, but generally if something is common, not immediately obvious, and used in a specific pattern/context it may end up as ‘grammar’. As we keep expanding the content on Bunpro, we will hopefully be able to include more relevant information and more holistically. We are currently locked in on improving the content for the standard N5 to N1 range, but there is also an awful lot of post-N1 ‘grammar’ that could be added or clarified in the (likely far) future.
Although not perfect, our grammar point selection is already one of the largest around in English, and perhaps the largest that has full explanations and examples. We are always taking suggestions though (please check out this thread for details).
