Am I the only one?

Am I the only person whose activity graph looks like this

Yours looks a bit extreme. Is it due to you not doing a lot of reviews on some days or adding a lot of new items in a single day?

I had quite a few lazy days.

Shouldn’t have gone for that N2 badge. Can’t guess the grammar point from the English translation any more; killed my motivation.

Mine also looks pretty spiky. My reviews have hovered around 1k due to WaniKani sync, adding class+mined material, and ghosts (just disabled). Long term I don’t know if this is sustainable.

Overall I’m pretty consistent with hitting my current goal of 100 reviews a day. Sometimes I want to do a bit more, and sometimes life gets in the way and I just do a few reviews. I think it’s astonishing, that I manage to be that consistent, since I don’t have a routine I follow. Sometimes I decide to 45 minutes of focused reviews, sometimes I space my reviews over the day. But at the end of the day, most of the times, I did around 100 reviwes.

Mine’s pretty much flat, lol

You guy’s review numbers are insane! 300 in a single day? 400? Over a thousand? I literally could never. This reminds me of my wanikani days, but 100 items in wanikani takes like 20% of the time it takes here

Yeah, for me too 100 is a comfortable number. I’ve been consistent and never skipped reviews. But lately I’ve been dragging my feet a bit and reduced the daily learned items.

I’m getting frustrated with vocab on Bunpro, so I’m trying to shift back to Wanikani. Going through the process of learning the Kanji before the vocab seems to make it much more memorable to me.

That was an oopsie of mine ahahaa I definitely do not recommend. It’s back down to about 500 which is better but still a lot. My sweet spot seems to be 200 or less, where I don’t feel overwhelmed if there’s newer terms in there

I will add that my vocab reviews are set to reading mode so they go by much faster than fill in. If I had over 1k fill ins to do I would probably die

I did RTK at the beginning of last year and it definitely makes learning vocab so much easier even if I’ve forgotten what a lot of the kanji mean.

Definitely a little Spiky but not too crazy. Weekends are usually when I can get more practice in.

I’d say mines pretty normal. I don’t use Bunpro for vocab tho so its only grammar. Sometimes it’ll spike a little but its mostly flat

Note: I use anki, not bunpro
For me, I don’t do all of my reviews every day.

I do my reviews at work when I have a slow day.
[My supervisor knows, and is chill with it]
And when it’s not slow, I do 10 review just to keep the streak. I’ve been adding like, 4 new things a day this past year.

I think this is normal to sometimes study for 2 hours, and sometimes 10 minutes when you are busy.

I think this is very important to mention! A lot of people are in very busy and interesting parts of their lifes, especially younger people have a lot going on. Between school/college/life planning/first adult job/etc you rarely have the stability to really form a habit that takes an hour of reviews daily, if you manage to keep your streak up (if that is important to you) that is actually plenty! And if you feel burned out, I think it’s not always cause you did too much japanese, but also because you have so much going on in your life, that even thinking about another non-essential task is way too hard.

So if your graph looks all spikey, it’s probably cause your life has a lot of ups and downs, too. No need to feel bad about that!
