Android App vs. Progressive Web App

Just created an account yesterday. I’m coming from WaniKani and discovered Bunpro on their community forum. So far loving it :heart:

I’m doing both WaniKani and Bunpro on my Android smartphone, and was wondering what are the benefits of using the Bunpro app instead of the Web app? The latter is a Progressive Web App (PWA) and can be “installed” on my home screen, having also notifications and other features making it behaving like a regular app.

Anyone using the app instead of the PWA?

By the way, is the Android app open source?

I’ve used both. More recently (this summerish) the app now allows Gesture controls for reviews making them go by much faster for anything that isn’t manual input. But I think that’s the biggest difference between the two
