Anki mining setup - Kaishi 1.5k style

I am very close to finishing The Kaishi 1.5k Anki deck and the style that deck has is awesome. Front card style with word and sentence (no furigana), and then back side with audio, image, furigana etc. After it the mining starts! :smiley:

I am trying to setup sentence mining strategy via migaku or yomitan but to no avail. The format migaku creates cards in is just not appealing at all. And finding how to create cards from either of the tools in the same Kaishi 1.5k card format is quite scarce.

I am hereby asking for help in such matter. I kindly ask the community for a guide how to do this if someone has gone through the similar.

Pretty much should house all the information that you need for yomitan method. I’d only suggest exporting your Anki collection to your PC for backup, make a new Profile, import said deck(s) there and play around. This way in case you mess something up, you’re doing it in a safe environment.

If you are just looking into adding vocabulary into your Anki deck using yomitan and you want to use Kaishii’s style you don’t have to do anything special. You only have to configure Yomitan appropriately - the note type from Kaishii is already available.
These are my Yomitan Anki settings to use the same note type for my deck:

Thank you so much! I will look into this. I managed to set it up on one device with migaku. But migaku has a paying subscription model. Yomitan is much better in this regard

I’ll just say that cijapanese.com is a perfect place for mining because it has:

  • Content with a lot of i+1 sentences
  • Well arranged subtitles so you won’t have problems with audio cutting
