I’m planning my 2026 summer Japan trip right now and one of the places I’m planning to visit is Fukui Prefecture. I have also heard like 津軽弁(Tsugaru accent: Aomori) and other that Fukui also has a very unique accent(s).
I really got interested in the prefecture through the anime/ln: “Chitose in the Ramune Bottle” and how in the show they use Fukui accent and how they’re divided into two regions of 嶺南(reinan) and 嶺北 (reihoku) and each have their own separate phrases and words.
Just wondering if there’s a Fukui accent deck around or possibly someone is from there? I’ll probably be creating one just in case but pretty excited to go there.
