Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a grammar point I recently came across, as it did not seem to be covered in many online English resources. Please feel free to correct any of this content!
About ~こともあって
This expression combines the particle も and the う - Verb, ある. It is used to highlight a noun or noun phrase (A) as a reason for a subsequent statement (B). My impression is this expression will cite (A) as a chief reason, while implying that other reasons may also exist.
「東京の高円寺氷川神社は、天気の神様の神社もあって有名です」
Tokyo’s Koenji Hikawa Shrine is famous, in part / among other reasons as a shrine to the weather god.
