Why do a lot of the example sentences for this kanji have よう as the reading in the audio? Since the furigana has it listed as さま I expected to hear that but only a minority of them do. I’m still new to Japanese but I have heard さま used many times before but not so much よう.
The reason why is because this Kanji 様 (さま) is used as a suffix for names, in order to elevate the person and show more respect than さん, AND it’s also used to to describe the “way” something is done 様 (よう). Both are common ways to use this Kanji.
HTH!

The vocab sentences are generated with software, so in cases like that it confuses which reading to go with. You can use the report button to let the team know. They’re compiling a list of such troubled words
Sorry for the confusion here! In the case of N5, N4, N3, or N2 vocab, you can assume that the furigana is correct, and the audio is wrong.
This is due to what other users have said. Sometimes the AI doesn’t know what reading to use. We usually fix these pretty quickly upon being informed about them. Apologies for the inconvenience!
Edit - We may be moving to a different AI soon, as the readings are almost 100% accurate and the voices are pretty much indistinguishable from a person.
