Audio files aren't working for me on some lessons

For some lessons (e.g. https://bunpro.jp/grammar_points/みたい), audio files aren’t working for me. When I click the play button, it briefly indicates that it is loading, but then stops that and just doesn’t play. The console says “Uncaught (in promise) DOMException: The media resource indicated by the src attribute or assigned media provider object was not suitable.”. An example URL it tries to load is: https://bunpro.jp/paths/genki_2_2nd_edition/chapter/17/grammar_points/お茶の味が薄かったら、言ってください。.mp3 (which opens as a 500 Internal Server Error for me)

Other lessons (e.g. https://bunpro.jp/grammar_points/247) work, but they don’t try to get their audio files from https://bunpro.jp, but from a CDN, e.g. https://dk3kgylsgq3k1.cloudfront.net/audio/N3/Lesson%205/N3%2090%20-%20にとって/君にとっては簡単でも、僕には難しいよ。.mp3

Looks like maybe an issue with the AWS outage earlier? All the audio should be on the CDN, but if the request fails it looks locally too. I should be that if it fails both the audio doesn’t show. I will look into it more.

Yeah, quite possible. Today I’m not really surprised about anything not working on the internet.

And no idea if that’s because you flipped a switch or if that’s finally the desired behaviour on fail, but the audio for みたい that was previously broken now shows “Audio coming soon!” for me.

Yesterday I couldn’t listen to any audio files. Now I think all the pages are showing “Audio coming soon!” :dizzy_face:
