I love that since creating this I’ve gained 2 badges already, the thread is serving it’s purpose!!!

I’m going to be self-indulgent and try to get the ‘First Link’ Badge by linking to a post I made ages ago, but then abandoned because it was too embarrassing to continue…
(I still think Extensive Reading has really helped my Japanese, and I’ve read about 35 books this year, but journaling it in front of people is for those braver than I)

Edit: GOT ITTTT

I recently made another thread as well, you should check it out if you have any ideas for Japanese tools you wanna see made like extensions and such:

May or may not have gotten a badge from this link

This might be kinda niche but also at some point I think it’d be fun to make a ranking system for the value of a badge based on how difficult it is to attain and how many people already have it. I know they already come in three colors but as you can look in see all badges aren’t made the same regardless of the given rank

Sorry to be a total noob but how does one change their profile information/bio?

It looks like you found it from the profile Pic XD

I think the badges on the forum come with the forum software (Discourse). I visit a couple of other websites that have Discourse forums and they all have the same badges. That might be the reason there’s a Wiki badge even though Bunpro doesn’t have a Wiki.

That explains a lot!
I was surprised when I used the comprehensible /natural japanese forum and it was nearly the same layout.
I think wanikani also have something similar but I don’t use that one.

I want the “New User of the Month” badge but it’s already too late for me :pensive:
I lurked for a month before gathering the courage to start posting.

I looked into it a little bit and it seems like it’s pretty easy to add and edit the badges. I honestly just think there hasn’t been a big push for any new badges so it hasn’t really changed in a while.

That being said I’ve been thinking about possible badges to add that make sense and I think something related to the number of words and posts you’ve made would be cool. Also some badges for completing all of the badges kinda like a 100% a game

Edit:
Not sure if it’s possible but hidden badges would also be pretty cool, maybe for using certain vocab or things like that

Add this to the pool:

  • There is a first POLL badge.
  • This is not WK, do not mention POLLs.
  • Some other answer.

Trying to figure out why the top was given 34% over the rest:

Well some badge can’t be access anymore like the “new user of the month” that you can only obtain on your first month. But why not?

@roserose good to know, thanks

I just read the information about the Badges I don’t have - I think I really would feel crazy, if I liked so many posts in a short time
Crazy in Love
Oh, but the next JLPT exam would be a good opportunity to spread a lot of love

I have gotten the wiki editor badge on the WaniKani forums, but not on here. On the WK forums, it’s for editing a “wiki post” not necessarily an actual dedicated wiki page. In my case, I joined in on a book club and a listening accountability group, and one of those ones had a master post with the list of who was participating and they asked users to add themselves. Once I added myself I got the badge.
