Bunpro (grammar) study routine

Hi everyone,

I would like to know how you study grammar and especially how you use bunpro to support your studies?

I really like bunpro and went for the lifetime option, but right now I believe I’m not using the site to its full potential :woman_shrugging:

Until now I studied grammar with Genki and came to bunpro after that to take the new grammar points into my reviews. Sometimes I do read some of the linked material, sometimes I don’t.

I do my reviews once a day (if there are any) and that’s it.
So, how do you do it? Any tips on improving my grammar studies?

I’m primarily using it to review my knowledge, although I have come across a few grammar points I wasn’t familiar with. As such I went through all the available material in a span of three days and now review every now and then.

I don’t do anything special.
I literally just read all the links of a lesson I’m doing and make sure I understand it, then I add it to my reviews. I do this for however many lessons I plan to do for the day, so 0-6 lessons depending on the day. Then I go to my reviews and do all of them.
My average correct rate is ~90%. I finished N5 and N4, and being able to recall 90% of the grammar is amazing! I was able to hold a basic conversation with my Japanese friends!
I did both genkis (both textbooks and both workbooks) and was barely able to remember anything after a few months. With BunPro I still remember 90% (of N5 and N4) after having already finished N4 ~4 months ago.

I also have lifetime :beers:

I usually do my reviews in the morning and the evening. It really just depends on how much time you want to invest into it.

If they add a lesson queue like WaniKani, it will be easier to know when to learn new items versus just reviewing old ones. I find myself just reviewing without adding any new lessons. Sometimes I just “feel” like learning something new so I do some lessons, but that’s usually not the case.

I read the texts and copy some/most of the phrases to train my writing and reading skills, also speak them out loud and listen when they’re available. After studying new topics I do all the reviews.

I’m going to pay monthly because the dollar is just too expensive for me right now; I’m doing 3-6 topics daily so I hope that by the end of the year I’m at least through N4 and studying N3.
