I went through this at the beginning of the year, and when I first got started on the forum, I got a message from discobot with the introduction and such. It guided me through all the steps for the tutorial and I got the certification at the end of it. There may be a way to trigger it manually, but it all just kinda happened for me.

Seriously, it seems that you can send a private message (just “start tutorial”) to discobot, then that might actually be the start of the tutorial!
Follow what discobot says, starting with bookmarking discobot’s reply, and you might even get a 
in the future!

It was supposed to be possible to do the same thing by @'ing Discobot in a post on the forum, but it looks like it’s a got a few screws loose.

there are few levels after saving discobot’s first message
after that just copy one of the links and reply to discobot and after that you need to do sum other easy tasks.
Then, before you know it, you’ll be doing the discobot dance, performing the discobot rituals, and chanting the glorious name of discobot, so that we mere creatures of the world may try in vain to touch even just a shred of discobot’s magnificence
