Changing "Grammar Type" changes lesson type, but NOT review type

I see some threads where @Jake is saying that the Grammar Type setting affects only future reviews… but I am not even seeing that. Steps I followed:

  1. Reset N4 progress
  2. Change Grammar Type to Reading Question/Reveal & Grade Answer
  3. Complete lesson (correctly uses Reading Question style)
  4. Wait for review
  5. Start review, which uses the WRONG question style (Fill In Question/Manual Grade)

Am I doing something wrong here or is this just bugged out?

Weird… if I go on Desktop version and set this setting back and forth, the reviews are correct on Desktop specifically… but I can’t seem to get Reading Question/Reveal & Grade Answer style reviews on Android. Are these only supported from browser/PC for now?

Haha I realized my android app had an update ready, and after downloading it my reviews just lead to a “something went wrong” screen. I’ll submit a bug through email like it suggests.

After all that, signing in and out in the app, I can not see Reading Question reviews on mobile too… but only can see them on some reviews. I tried resetting my N4 data again but even after changing my grammar type setting I am still seeing new reviews as fill in. Does it take a while to update or something?

Yeah I have figured it out. So the first review/lesson I do on mobile will always be the correct type, but after that my android app specifically (not desktop) seem to change reviews back to Fill In Question.

I also got review errors that never got fixed so I dropped the app and just use the mobile desktop.

I wonder if since you reset (aka did those review prior) it’s treating them the same as in progress reviews are far as type goes?

I’d suggest going into the deck and setting all past/current reviews to the type you want that way and see if it works. You change the drop down to what you want, then below that click the button.

Edit: whoops missed your last post. I assume it works fine on desktop then and it’s another app issue?
