Changing the review type is not user friendly

Changing the past review types is such a pain. Typing in takes to long so I’m switching to review and select.

I looked in the settings and changed it there for all types and past reviews, not everything was changed. It says that the deck settings override it. I go into the N5-N1 decks and change it. Still not good. I have to go through each deck and change them individually as well? I only ever add new cards 5 at a time. I’m not sure if these are ghost reviews which are picked from other decks but this is just plainly not user friendly.

I just went through and changed each deck. Still not working.

Hi there.
Welcome to the forums!

I just checked your account and it seems you aren’t using any Decks as your primary Learn source, you’re using JLPT N4, which is set through General Settings > New Grammar > JLPT Study Level.

Deck Settings shouldn’t be affecting the Review Type at all

Using the Update All feature in the Review Settings page should still work.
In the Default Grammar Review Type section, you’ve tried changing the Question Type to Reading, and the Answer Type to Reveal & Grade, and clicked Update All?

Doing this won’t update Ghosts either – will add a task to the list so that this gets changed so it updates Ghosts too.

EDIT: And yes, I agree with you that the Review Type system is not very user friendly (demonstrated by my essay above)…
Definitely something we’re aware of, and we’ve got a lot in the works that should help fix this!

Awesome, thank you. I think the only ones not changed are ghosts as I’m going through them.

The fix for this is live!

If you use the Update All button in settings now, it will also update Ghosts to your chosen Review Type :bowing_man:

Happy studying!
