Cloze-enabled Sentences + Audio for A2, A3, A4 Decks

Love this update. Is there any way I can enable cloze for every A2-4 card that is already in my reviews without having to enable cloze for each card one-by-one? Thank you!

Update comes in a bit late, but data resync worked like a charm ! :muscle:

That’s a really great update!

I’d love to have the option to see the progress on the A decks in similar way as the N decks in home screen.

(Even if in a single bar combining them all, to have some sense of progress in them as well, instead of relying in some mental gymnastics calculations from total number of learnt items minus the sum of all N items)

I tried this but I get a “failed” error when trying to set the review settings for these decks. Any ideas?

I assumed it just stood for “additional”.

A reported by a few users here (@davesies), the “update all my reviews” option in deck settings returns “failed”. Turns out this is because you need to enable desk as “learning” then update the reviews then disable again (if this is desired state). Might be nice to have this feature work regardless of if in learning queue, but not a big deal.

As for the ones with {} definitions on the end, these seem to all be for A1 terms.

From my reviews I’ve found: 没頭、叢、藪、粗末、地道

  1. Now that A2-A4 are live, are there plans to go back and clean up A1 as well?

  2. Similarly, is there a timeline for polishing the remaining “unofficial” content like…

  • A5: all have sentences, missing Cloze and audio
  • Onomatopoeia deck: all have sentences, missing Cloze and audio for A5+
  • Core 2K/4K decks: there’s a few hundred A5+ terms with Cloze enabled sentences but no audio

Also I imagine it’s quite annoying to get peppered with “when’s the next batch” after rolling out an accomplishment like this, so apologies there.

As for the line breaks, understood. I definitely think it’d be nice have a hard rule here and clean them all up with some regex, but I imagine satisfying one user’s OCD isn’t on the top of the to-do list  That being said, I do think it helps with readability to split the lines, so please consider at least a backlog ticket.

Thanks for the reply, and keep up the good work dropping massive content updates like this!

were some words moved away from A1-A4 and moved up to higher A-numbers?

I saw this yesterday on mobile, that it is A4 but doesn’t have sentences, so I saved it in order to ask if there are still supposed to be A1-A4 words without sentences or if it’s a bug

but just as I was about to make the post today, I noticed that on desktop rather than A4, it’s shown as A20:

I absolutely second this. The A decks are an incredibly powerful resource on Bunpro and I think Bunpro should embrace and promote them like the website’s core material. I’d love official decks and progress bars. The bars could also be hidden until the user wants to display them so that the mountain of learnable vocab doesn’t come across as too intimidating.

Yes some of them were moved.

The data-syncing issues should be fixed with the next update to the Mobile app.

These sorts of mismatches shouldn’t happen any more after that!

The problem is that the “A-level” isn’t strictly based on commonality, as some users have pointed out.

We’d probably come up with a different solution in that case (e.g. based on some Core X-k Deck or something).
