Coming back after a year — The app is amazing!

I just started getting back into studying Japanese after taking about a year and a half hiatus due to burning out by rushing to WK 60. I’ve decided to take it a lot more slowly and have a more comprehensive study plan, rather than focusing almost exclusively on sprinting through the WK levels and seeing how fast I could learn — but failing to recognize all of the corners I was cutting that would only hurt myself in the long run.

I reset back to level 1 on WK a couple of weeks ago (hitting level 3 tomorrow! Much more slowly, but much less chaotic) and have already started on low level graded readers. Now that I’ve proven to myself I can maintain a small study habit, I’m adding grammar SRS back with Bunpro. And I’ve been going through the items, resetting the ones I don’t solidly remember, and I had to take a break to come back here and share my joy.

I just wanted to say, holy smokes!!! The app is amazing! The site has so many features and details now! I still have more to explore, and I am not caught up on the community so I have no idea what the climate is like here, so please excuse me if I’m crossing any boundaries, but I am genuinely blown away at what Bunpro has become, and I feel so lucky to have such an excellent resource to aid my learning.

That’s all, just wanted to thank the amazing people who have made this what it has become. Thank you, and keep up the great work!

(And if you have any tips or a study plan recommendation for someone who wants to get more than just kanji practice, please share! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

The app is incredible. Im so lazy after work but it’s just there on my phone looking at me with a little red number lol - I just did post work reviews for the first time in weeks because of it!

I logged in today just to write this. I’ve been using the app for months now, and it feels absolutely amazing, works flawlessly for most of the time, and for me personally, it’s helped me tremendously improve my Japanese learning experience.

Wanikani has of course taken a hold of the Kanji learning experience that will be almost impossible to outmatch for years to come, but I truly feel that Bunpro has managed to do the same for the Grammar aspect of learning Japanese. Today, as it stands, I feel that WK+Bunpro are a MUST for Japanese learning.

The app has made incredible strides from the first version, which I think was a wrapper for a web browser haha

So thankful for all the work done on the app
