Cram existing decks question

Hello! I’m a new user and have been enjoying using the app.
I have a question about cram… is there a way to only study the decks that I have in progress in a cram session?

Currently I am doing the reviews after each lesson but they are too short and I have to wait for the next review to appear. When I visit the cram session, i do not see a way to cram my current decks progress, i only see the option to add entire sections that I have not learned yet.

Is there a way to add only the vocab and grammar that I have learned so far to be able to review it freely?

Thanks,
Daniel

Cram currently doesn’t support that specific function, it’ll probably be added at a later date when we add in a bunch of stuff at the same time. You can add specific Lessons from the Decks (just click the dropdown menu of the Deck and its respective Lesson), that might be of use? Or you can further expand this to manually add each Grammar/Vocab item.

Obviously feel free to use Cram however you want, but I might slightly “warn” (for lack of a better word) Cramming too much at the early stages. The SRS works so that it progressively increases the time between an items Review, and if you’re cramming it too often then it slightly interferes with some of the intended purpose of the review system.

Either way, welcome to Bunpro! Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions! :surfing_man:

I’ll try adding specific lessons in the meantime, but glad to hear it is on the radar for a future update.

Thanks for the cramming suggestion. I didn’t know the pacing played as big of a role, but now I do and will pace accordingly!

Yeah the pacing is (essentially) doubling in length over time assuming you always get it correct, I’ll attach a pic of the specifics.

It’s quick at the start to help reinforce the idea into your brain better, but increases in length to both not overwhelm you with reviews and also test your long-term retention. Kinda hard to explain in writing, but hopefully you get the gist. Personally, I’d Cram a few items if I was having trouble with them lately or understanding the differences between 2-3 grammar points, or maybe before a test, etc. But everyone’s different! No real wrong way of studying, as long as you’re learning and progressing then do what feels best for ya! :cowboy_hat_face:

Cram is perfect, especially for beginner items - for those of us, who need even shorter intervalls in the beginning.
