Did I miss something?! Confused by my review session

I started out using Bunpro this week and so far I’m enjoying it, but I was a bit surprised by my review session today. I have recently “learned” the い-Adjective lesson, and the review session I just did was expecting me to input " 暑いです”, for the prompt “It is hot today”. I got it wrong, and after checking the “い-Adjective” lesson page again, it seems like this was one of the (many!) examples listed there. I would’ve expected to be asked to input only the “いです” part in this case, to show that I understood how to conjugate the adjective.

I’m a bit confused as to what I should be trying to remember from these lessons: Grammar concepts, or vocabulary? “暑[あつ]” definitely seems to be more of a vocabulary item to me. Should I try to memorize all the first X examples of a given lesson? Can I expect cold/fun/interesting, or other い-adjectives to show up in the " い-adjective" review?

Any help would be appreciated!

For grammar lessons when you’re expected to input a vocabulary word, its dictionary form is provided in brackets after the sentence, so you don’t need to remember the word itself, just how to fit it into the grammatical structure you’re being tested on.
