Different cards for the same vocab?

Hi all,

This might be a stupid question, but I couldn’t figure it out myself. Sometimes I find different cards for the same vocab, such as these ‘three’ cards. One of them is classified as just E1, the other one is unclassified but also as Common.

How do I know what is the “correct” card to add to my reviews/decks in these cases?

The unclassified one does have more detailed info like pitch accent and frequency, but I guess the WaniKani intergration automatically added the E1 version.

Agreed.

I also noticed that it creates an issue where if you add a community deck, you sometimes get repeats of vocabulary you already studied in the official Bunpro decks.

The E-list are all duplicates and slated for removal.

When this happens Decks and Reviews for those items will be altered to use the correct duplicate (e.g. in your example @Obviiious, your Seasoned progress on E1 will move to the Unclassified one).

Me again! A lot of duplicates are already gone now, thanks for all the hard work! I was still wondering two things though:

Is all E-list stuff slated to be removed? This one for example is very usefull, but could not find an alternative card.

And occasionally I still find cards that are somewhat duplicates, but not really. Any plans on these cards?

I just renamed 三つ to N5.
The ここのか one I’ll look into.

But yeah, just ping me here if you find more.
All the E-list ones have been recategorized. They just have the “E”-tag left over, even though there (should be) no more duplicates.

I encountered these while looking something up, but seems to be the case for all numbers and days of the month (1-10 at least).

Edit bc i’ve noticed that all these pairs, even though they seem exactly the same, are coded a bit differently:

• one item in the pair has the furigana split like so: 高齢()者()
• while the other has the furigana toggle for the whole piece at once: 高齢者()

I wonder if that’s why the automated search-and-merge didn’t work for these stragglers…?
