Does vacation mode get enabled while a subscription is inactive?

Due to a busy month, I’d fallen behind on reviews and let my subscription lapse for a few days. When I returned, the dashboard showed I had over 160 reviews. However, once I reactivated my subscription this amount immediately dropped to 90.

Is this a bug, or does it mean that vacation mode simply had been enabled when my subscription expired?

A sort of vacation like mode happens where it adjusts your reviews to offset the time you were unsubscribed.

In thinking about it now versus when we implemented it. I think that it maybe doesn’t really make sense to do it that way and should instead just let the reviews build up normally.
