General small question/new people thread

I checked it looks like I didn’t give bunpro’s api anything special for permissions.
I’m assuming you’ve double checked that the api is correct. It wouldn’t hurt to double check that the API hasn’t been set to expire on wanikani’s website although I doubt it would. And you probably pushed the “Sync Wanikani Vocab” button it so I don’t know what is going wrong :c
You might have to send them an email threatening to tell their parents that they need to get grounded or something.

If you go to your profile there is a tab on the right called “reset”
From there it gives you more reset options. But it does it in pretty large chunks.
If you’re asking if you can just easily select several reviews to reset at once then not that I know of. Hope this helps buddy

Sorry to bother, but it looks like the option to change the username on the forum has disappeared on the user side. Could an administrator update my username here to match the one on Bunpro website (KitsuFuwa)?

Thank you in advance

Hi all - brand new to Bunpro, finding it very useful!

Prior to getting here, I’ve been using Anki for getting through some amount of vocabulary (Kashi 1.5K and Ankidrone decks). I find the cloze style of answering more useful in helping me recall words, so I’d like to “switch” over for vocab. But as you can imagine, a lot of the terms in the vocab decks are words that I’d like to not “start over” with.

Is there a way to mark terms “mastered” other than hitting that “already mastered” button as you run through daily practice? Or to assign them a level that’s between “new to me” and “completely done”?

I actually did this when I was frustrated with using multiple things and also preferring cloze about a year+ ago, but I’m not sure there’s a non-manual way to do it.

The method I used personally was I just started using vocab decks, and during the learn phase if I already knew the word I’d hit master, and if I was not comfortable with the word I just started over, it’s a way to split that work out over many days as opposed to just bulk doing it for however how many hundred words you already know. There may be a better/easier way to do it that I’m not aware of, but I didn’t find this particular method too painful.

You can, as far as I know, manually set the SRS level of every item, but I wasn’t interested in doing that much work for myself.

Thank you, mbuck867. Does Bunpro track whether you know a word across different decks? For example, if have clicked “mastered” for ‘watashi’ in one deck, and that word happens to also be in a different deck, will the SRS level track? Or would I have to do this every time I start a new deck that has overlap with prior ones?

I don’t know the specifics for how it works, but it does track those things yes, for example, I haven’t touched the N4 Vocab deck yet, but I have 51% done or in my review queue from the other decks I have worked on(and some other percent of all the other various N level vocab decks). As long as it isn’t a strange spelling or definition not linked to other things, it tracks that stuff.

Ok, I’ve been using Bunpro for, let’s just say awhile (I’m a slow learner).
But I want to commend the writers of the phrases in all categories for their clever commentary on CURRENT events. I just read something that laments how all of us are buried in their smartphones and social media, etc. I think it is safe to say that that comment could not have been made when I started Bunpro. LOL!
