just a heads up it arrived in the mail today - I mean it’s just a piece of paper for N5, but still…got holograms and official and everything
Wait, we’re supposed to receive something? I never got anything from my JLPT last year, lmao.
P.s. congrats!
you need to apply (and pay if I recall correctly) to receive the physical certificate
Where do you apply to do so? Is it something you can do online?
Ah, that makes sense then. I don’t think I’ll bother with that until I reach N1 (or if I otherwise need it, lmao).
You apply for it on the JLPT site. The same one where your results are published. There is a little checkbox you can check to say that you want your results delivered to you. It is under the tab named test result and certificate issuance
yeah it isn’t really that necessary unless you apply for something that needs it. Or if you just want to keep a physical version of it for some reason.
I think that’s only in Japan, isn’t it? I’ve always received a certificate even though I never specifically asked for it (in France & in the UK).
Haven’t received it yet this year so @whisketown 's message gave me hope it would be soon
The SOAS (London) website does say they will send them between March & April (actually I just checked and they changed their wording, saying they’re currently sending them out!!).
I agree it may not be a necessity but I’m always happy to have it, just because it’s nice.
That might be the case since I’ve only ever done the JLPT in Japan. I thought it might be similar abroad. In my case I received a regular letter showing that I had passed, but there is also an official stamped certificate you can apply for which I also received after making the application. That one sounds more like the one @whisketown mentioned.
We need a Bunpro certificate with @Jake’s signature and a badge. Maybe when the Bunpro store goes online
There’s a Bunpro store in the works??
Congrats! I got mine framed and on the wall as motivation.
I also got my certificate that I failed. Have not received such certificate before as at least SOAS or in Japan, the don’t send it… The shame (even though I just take the N2 exam for fun and see my progress or regress) of not passing is really good motivator to study it seems haha
I have already applied for the N2 again in July this year lol
Makes sense! It may be different depending on where outside Japan you take it, at least SOAS in London does send it as I got mine today as well
Same here, SOAS London certificate arrived today.
