みたい help needed

I would appreciate any help understanding why this is みたいに not みたいな
My thinking is こういち and 日本語 are nouns so な would be used, is there something Im missing or is this an error

“To teach Japanese” is the verb here, I think みたいな日本語 would imply the Japanese is Koichi-like

Maybe just some extra padding to what owlhood already answered

Noun + mitai + ni + Verb
Noun + mitai + na + Noun

Check out maggie senseis link, perhaps that can give it some more clarity

If you wait a few more hours, there may be an explanation for this on the grammar page itself :sunglasses::sunglasses:.
