My year subscription runs out in November I should finish n3 by then but I have a question should I invest time in n2-n1 honestly bunpro has been a drag but what should I do.
Why donât you judge the situation once youâre closer to the deadline? Is there a reason why youâre asking this now? Whether you should go all the way to N1 or not might change by then.
n2 + n1 grammar is mostly just expressions/vocab pretty much so you could do that. Or just look up grammar while you read if you want to.
TBH, I would just reccomend slowing down your pace on bunpro and enjoying learning the rest of the grammar slower.
I mean, you are the one saying that Bunpro has been a drag for you. I would ask myself why thatâs the case and if it has anything to do with the way Iâm using it (for example, trying to add too many grammar points and having too many reviews) or if itâs really not a helpful tool for me at all.
When you say âfinish N3â, do you mean master all the points?
In any case, personally, Iâm in Bunpro for the long run. Once in a while, I see a grammar point while I read and I look it up on Bunpro only to realize that I had âmasteredâ that grammar point already. In that case, I reset my progress and study it again with a fresh perspective and more experience with the language. Learning a language does not happen in a straight line.
Anyway, I love Bunpro; it is not a drag for me, and when it is, itâs usually my fault for not taking into consideration my own limitations. But if you think itâs a drag for you and you cannot do anything about it, why not use some other tool, resource, or method to learn grammar instead?
If itâs a drag for you Iâd move on to something else.
Plenty of get fluent in three weeks programs out there. One of those might work.
oh man, I wish one fluent-in 3 weeks course would actually work.
I donât know how some people master a new language in 3 weeks, for me it takes YYYEEEAARSSSS. it makes me feel so slow and retarded.
It feels like you want someone else to make your learning decisions for you. Why would you worry about this now anyway? If Bunpro already feels like a drag, increasing reviews to finish everything before November surely wonât help
Also, please name your threads with more than âHelpâ, âNeed helP?â and âKanjiâ.
They donât master a language in 3 weeks (or whatever ridiculous timeline they say), so donât feel bad about it. When I hear people say that, I just assume theyâre lying. The only people who can probably achieve this are those with Savant syndrome, which is an extremely rare condition.
Anyway, just be consistent and you will inevitably get there. No need to compare yourself to others. Thatâs an exercise in futility.
Like Jose said, 3 weeks just doesnât happen unless actual genius with language which is what .0000001%? Totally made up that number but you get it
Not only that but the ones who do successfully speed run a language (1-2yrs) usually pick one extraordinarily close to their native language like Spanish and Italian. Going from one romance language to another is a totally different story
Point is, just cruise through at your own pace and enjoy the rideâ¨
If learning 10 kanji and saying âăăăŤăĄăŻâ is fluent, those programs really work!
Really, donât worry. some people really are better at learning languages than others, but unless you are Rainman, donât expect to learn it in a week.
Even 5 years to fluency is quite fast. Especially in non-romanized languages (assuming you began with romanized language like german, french, spanish, american, english).
Was being sarcastic, I hope you were too.
I did meet one person long ago who said they got fluent in three weeks with Rosetta Stone. He also told me that he beat Michael Jordan 1 on 1 in his prime when he was 13, and that he had the original idea for Demon Slayer, but a deep state Japanese employee stole it from his Montana home.
I hate when that happens. thatâs why I now leave my life changing stories in my Louisiana bunker.
hahahahahahaha
If you have a bit of spare time, feel free to let us know what exactly was a drag for you. You never know, many user opinions end up leading to change, so your voice could be the tipping point between what you found being a drag actually being improved.
Hope you find what works best for you !
I think finishing N3 in November would be a great feat! If you can do it, go for it and donât give up! However, donât feel bad even if you canât reach that goal. You never know when a magic Bunsgiving Possum Bunny might appear and grant an extension for you after seeing all your efforts until November
Donât rush until you burn out! Even 1 review a day is a good thing, IMO. Take a break and use the Vacation Mode when your Japanese studies feel like itâs piling up too high. Feel free to vent out here when you have any trouble with your studies. Enjoy the learning journey!

Yeah, Iâve been working on English for almost 60 years and I keep screwing it up.
