How to type nichiyoubi

I just failed a review because it thought I wanted a little yo after chi in nichiyoubi (Sunday). How do I input a regular yo after a syllable ending in i?

With a English keyboard when typing in Japanese, you sort of sound out the Japanese in English. For example, にちようび, you want to type ni chi yo u bi, all distinctly and completely.
More examples: ri yo りよ ki yo きよ, shi yo しよ.

If you want to type にちょうび, you would type ni cho u bi. The “little yo” type symbols need to be joined with the previous kana. You remove the “i” off the end and add in the “yo” (or ya, yu, e, o, etc).
More examples: Ryo りょ Kyo きょ Sho しょ

I suspect you accidentally typed “nichyoubi” rather than “nichiyoubi”? I hope that helps!

(Note: you can also type “l” or “x” on your keyboard before typing a kana to make it little. x + yo = ょ)

Thanks. I must’ve typed it too quick and missed the i.
