How to use Ghost reviews?

I’d like to know how the Ghost Reviews feature works. I’ve been using Bunpro for quite a while now, and I’ve never seen a single Ghost Review, even though I have the feature enabled.

Could you please explain how they are triggered or when I should expect to see one? Is it normal that I haven’t had any Ghost Reviews with my current settings?

Ghost Reviews

  • Ghost Reviews are reviews that you have gotten incorrect and come back to haunt you (leeches). If you get an item incorrect, that particular sentence will automatically be added to your review queue in addition to your normal reviews.
  • Ghost Reviews utilize a separate SRS so that you can devote extra attention to a specific sentence/nuance while you continue to receive new sentences and progress in your normal reviews.
  • With the implementation of Ghost Reviews, you will no longer get stuck in a review loop where, if you miss a sentence, you go back and see old sentences again. Instead, whether you get a grammar point correct or not, you will be able to further advance through the sentences on Bunpro! *Grammar points will still drop an SRS interval if incorrect.
  • (Source) Ghost Review intervals are now 4 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, and 48 hrs, meaning that you will see your Ghost sentence four times over the course of the next four days.

Choose Ghost Review Aggressiveness

  • When Ghost Reviews are set to ‘ON’ in settings, a Ghost Review will be created for a sentence if you miss it once in your reviews. Set Ghost Reviews to ‘Minimal’ to only add a sentence to Ghost Reviews if you miss the same sentence more than once.

You haven’t seen a ghost because it’s set minimal. You would have to get it wrong the first time during the regular review session, then get the same sentence wrong again in the wrap-up session in order for a ghost to be generated.
Setting it to “ON” would generate the ghost if you get it wrong the first time.

Thank you for the prompt responses!

From the links that you shared with me, it says:

“Once the Wrap-Up has started, if a user gets a question correct then a ghost is not created for that particular item. If a user gets a question wrong again, then a ghost will be created for that item. Either way, the item in question must eventually be answered correctly to finish the session.”

In many occasions I reply incorrectly during the reviews and then again in the wrap-up. But after eventually answer everything correct and finishing the session I don’t get any ghost review created. (I made sure that the level of the vocab was higher than Beginner 3, as in my settings)

Is there any other setup that may be affecting this?
