How to use Stripe to Subscribe?

Hi all

I’ve made a Stripe account specifically to subscribe to BunPro, but the process seems rather complicated and I can’t find any good information on the process.

Does anyone have any experience with subscribing with Stripe?

Please help me!

Stripe is the default subscription method and you don’t need to have an account.

Just input the card information on subscription page (the backend is Stripe):

Thank you - but that’s not working for me.
My bank blocks the payment because … Japanese bank things…

That’s why I was hoping making a Stripe account would help me make the payment.
(Like I could use my Stripe account as a proxy to make the payment instead of going directly through the bank)

Or am I going about this entirely the wrong way?

In the FAQ, Paypal is one of payment options. Send a mail to [email protected] and explain your problem, maybe they can offer another payment option.

I didn’t need any Stripe account when I subscribed to Bunpro.

Creating a Stripe account is for merchants, that’s it if you are intending to accept payments and use them as a payment processor.

As indicated by thirata, try contacting them via email and do PayPal instead. That should behave fine enough with Japanese banks assuming you have a Japanese PayPal account.

Your bank bounced the payment because the first time (or few times) an account makes a purchase to an international seller it might think your account info has been stolen. If you called them and approved it there wouldn’t be any problem, it’s a very standard thing that happened to me when I opened my bank account 10+ years ago. Then you can add your card for auto-pay and never have to worry about this again!
