When learning a new grammar point, I only get one review card for each grammar point. Is there a way I can get multiple ones shuffled without having to make a Cram session? I can increase the number of learned topics per session, but being tested on just one per topic does not seem to verify that I have a strong connection with the topic, at least until it comes up in reviews.
Sadly I think cram sessions are currently the only option for that. at least there is a new items tab under the special section, but it could be a comfier experience.
as someone who also need a bit more work in the first few hours of a new item and isn’t always in the mood to click through all those cram tabs, i usually just write down the points on a sheet of paper, put it next to me and look it over a few times until the reviews come around again. it’s not much work, i don’t even write example sentences or something, just the vocab or grammar point.
you could also consider changing your srs interval to shorter intervals. im always considering doing so, but id like to only change the earlier stages, the long term stages are fine with me, and that isn’t an option.
i kinda miss a proper “onboarding” session for new items. back when i was at school, learning with physical flashcards, i always had a system where new cards would get repeated 4 times over small but increasing intervals (like 1 minute, two minutes, …). i miss those days ^^
Exactly! For new things, I would put the flashcards that I was having trouble with in a separate pile, and then study those over and over. Which is the functionality I was hoping for here, by re-cramming the items that gave me trouble into a new filtered deck.
I miss those days, too! Maybe I’ll just make physical flashcards of everything I get incorrect.
