iOS app badges?

I love using iOS but it’s been like 2 years and the app still doesn’t support badges. I lost a 250+ day streak over the weekend because I thought I had done my reviews for the day, but apparently missed that I hadn’t. The number one thing I want the mobile app to do is make a very loud reminder to me daily that I have reviews. Ideally there should be a feature where a badge is added to my icon at midnight and doesn’t go away until I’ve done my daily reviews.

Is there any timeline for when this will be added to iOS?

I’ll also add I’ve a 15 year history of making mobile apps professionally, and I will happily add this feature for free if your team is too busy, provided you are willing to give me GitHub access. I suspect many members of the mobile community would be grateful for it to never again forget their daily reviews.

Hey!
We will make sure to improve badges functionality in the neat future as we plan to do improvements to the mobile app.

For what it’s worth, you’re allowed to manually set your streak when something like that happens:

I know that’s not the point of your post, but I thought I’d mention it in case the streak thing has you down :relieved:

Yeah I could do this but it seems like

  1. It would be cheating
  2. I don’t even remember what my exact streak was, only that it was high

I just want to stress like literally this feature is the absolute most important thing the mobile app can do IMO, even more than actual review functionality. TBH I usually use the web to do my daily reviews because I can type a lot more accurately and quickly there. But Bunpro is on the first page of my phone and if it had a badge on it that was set automatically (currently the app only displays a badge if you happen to open it while you have reviews to do) it would be impossible for me to miss.

Actually that’s another good feature request: is it possible to see my longest streak? I couldn’t even fix my streak if I wanted to because I have no way to know what it was.
