tho tbf no one has pronounced night or knife the old way in hundreds of years…
often is interesting though because the “t” was basically added to link it to “oft” from my understanding, so pronouncing it without the “t” is actually a more ““upper class”” behaviour since ““lower class”” people are more likely to hypercorrect their pronunciation
But either pronunciation is fine anyway (I say both offen and ofTen depending on my mood I think lol)
