Good luck for those who haven’t taken the exam yet, and congratulations for surviving the experience to those who have taken it!

Just an unofficial reminder not to discuss the contents of the exam :+1:

I am wondering if the whole world uses the same test papers for each JLPT sitting? During the exam today, the examiners repeated constantly before and after each section not to take any test papers or post questions online.

Also sat N2 today. Listening is usually one of my best sections, and I struggled hard with today’s listening portion of the test, so I feel you 🥲

I finished my N4 test about 45 minutes ago. I feel fairly confident about vocab/reading. When I finished the reading section I had about 5 minutes left over.

Listening, on the other hand was iffy. I know I bombed the last section but hopefully I got enough points to pass overall.

I will say that the test today was a little easier than the practice exams I’ve taken so far.

I also took the N2 test in Japan yesterday and the listening section was just awful. The hardest I got so far. A lot of vocab/expressions I never heard before and many tricky questions that I couldn’t event understand.

I had 2 other friends taking N2 and they struggled the same… The N4 listening section was also super difficult based on a friend of mine who took the test yesterday.

To me, the N2 vocab/grammar/reading section was much easier than what you usually find in books like Shinkanzen Master.

I wonder if they balanced the test difficulty with the listening section :sweat_smile:

Can’t wait to see the results!

Took N3 yesterday, walked out with a fried brain. If I passed the listening (which I…might…have? Hard to say) then I probably passed overall. If not, oh well, I’ll try again next time.

Might be a coincidence, but I took the N1 and also found the listening section to be the toughest. Although that may be because I was so focused on my reading from the july test towards this one that I probably neglected studying as much 聴解 as I should have . Anyway, gonna have to wait for the results to tell for sure.

I took N4 yesterday with a few other friends, and we all agreed that the Grammar section was the hardest by far.

Although, doing the listening section was annoying because the guy beside me kept trying to copy my answers, so I had to write everything in code before filling in the sheet :expressionless:

I took my N4 today! Vocab and grammar were both under control like I expected. I had no idea if listening was going to be too hard or not. In the end I could just barely keep up with the questions. If I got distracted mid-sentence, that question was a wash. That said, it went MUCH better than the last time I attempted N4 listening pre-pandemic.

I just finished the N5 today, and I found the middle section had a few vocab curveballs. Will be making an offering at the IRT altar.

Dang so it wasn’t just me then.

Reading was by far the hardest on all of the practice exams I took (today Easy Japanese app), and I always breezed through the listening sections.

Today I felt like I understood all of the readings super well and felt so good after the first section. And then the listening section kicked me to the curb :upside_down_face:

I’m feeling fairly confident still though. I probably did alright on listening and if I did as well on section 1 as I felt I did, I think I passed.

Yes they do, and it is a real problem. Some of the answers for yesterdays test were already posted online within two hours after the test in Japan. Now the entire list of answers is available.

I got a cold the night before the test. AWESOME!

Vocabulary and grammar felt much better than before. However, my body was not happy about sitting up and not resting sometime mid-reading section. Again, I could read the passages and understand the content just fine, but when I got to the question I would sometimes just blank out.

I felt like I was guessing on most of the listening questions.

I’m pretty sure I failed but my score hopefully went up in comparison to last time.

Oh well.
