JLPT December 2026

Got an 83.5% on my first N3 practice test attempt  Hopefully that means I’m on the right track for a pass on the real thing.

I’d recommend learning vocab on Bunpro instead.

I am locked and loaded for N5 in New Zealand in December. I feel like the process was a lot more agricultural than other locations! :joy: Had to print out a form, fill it in and post it back with printed photos of myself, and then pay the money by bank transfer.

I’m fairly confident of a pass (touch wood) as I have spoken around a N5 level for around 10 years, but I just want to get the W and get used to the testing environment before I try for N4 in July next year.

The test itself is late on a Sunday evening in a town 3 hours from me, and I can’t take the Monday off work, but that’s future me’s problem!

I was afraid that I was going to fail this N3 attempt, so much so I filled the December form the moment it went live in India.
Now that I have passed (marginally, by 2 marks lol) I am thinking whether to appear again in December to improve my score, or focus on N2 next year.

Wow, I did not realize the seats go that quickly. Almost every N2 seat in the US was taken already when I checked. Luckily I got one in time.

Locked in a seat for LA N5! They went fast, I got mine at 12:02 and by 12:15 every seat was gone for LA, and there were like 260.

I’ll be taking the N4 in Venice! It’ll be my first JLPT as well, but since I’ve been studying Japanese on and off for years and started taking it more seriously this year, I decided to go straight for N4 instead of N5.

I’ve already completed both the N5 and N4 grammar decks, but I’m still a bit behind on vocabulary. I’ve mainly been studying vocab with Anki using the Kaishi 1.5K deck, which overlaps quite a bit with the N5/N4 vocabulary decks here, although it doesn’t include everything.

I’ve started to mark as mastered here the words I already know to track my progress and now I’m wondering whether to add the missing ones to reviews, but I’m afraid of piling up too many

Just registered for N1 in Rome!

For now my scores on mock tests look like this

So I’ll have to work quite a bit to make it a pass, but I feel confident in my potential for now

By the way it would seem that in Italy we have an unlimited number of seats, so if someone has misted their timeline for those, but still needs to do test no mette what, registrations are open till September 11, 12:00

Awesome, and good luck! Sounds like hard work, but it’s an excellent goal to have too.

This is kinda of valuable information. I’ve long given up on being able to take the JLPT close to home, so I’m not even opposed to going all the damn way to Italy to take the exam if need be. Maybe I’ll add Italy to my JLPT collection after Belgium, Germany and England.

Thanks, I’ll try my best!

By the way, just as a piece of additional information, but in Italy jlpt is being held only in December, and not in July for some reason

I’m wondering if there is anyone on here who wants to take the JLPT in Sarajevo next summer… I know that this thread is for the December JLPT 2026, but Sarajevo holds only the summer one, if I am not mistaken. I would love to have a study buddy.

I passed the N5 last December, so I’ll take the N4 this time. I’ve already started the N3 decks, but I think I’ll slow down to practice the JLPT exam format, especially the choukai.

頑張りましょう!

In Japan, it seems you can only apply for the N3 in Tokyo/Osaka now, and applications for the other JLPT levels have closed.

Does it change if you’re actually located in Tokyo? It says all levels are closed everywhere for me.

At the moment everything is closed, but there was an announcement that the N3 level would reopen for those areas in…about an hour, I believe.

朝会? morning assembly? what do you mean?

As RiftGazing said, I mean 聴解, the listening part of the JLPT. For these kinds of situations I should avoid rōmaji and use only kanji haha.

that was my point. Never use romaji for anything
