My exam test location was France

I didn’t realize the N1-C1 threshold was so high, the fact that you got such a good score and are still ranked B2 ?

Congratulations 
If I remember well you had audio issues during the test and your entire group couldn’t listen to over half of it, right ? It’s a relief that they owned up to it

Well, what a surprise, barely passed.
Ran out of time on reading and had to guess a lot of the answers.
I’m in no way satisfied with the results, but not planning to re-take the test either.
Maybe kanken in a few years.

They did NOT own up to it. They marked that portion wrong.
This time around, the relatively low listening score is just due to my own limited brain capacity. but I’m not bothered by it.

Hey Touski no worries. I see someone posted the dedicated thread I made, that was more focused on a mindset shift that personally helped me and thought might be helpful for others.
For a more concise summary about the actual process. My personal progress went from completing Genki 1 and Genki 2, as well as Quartet 3 and 4 textbooks. During that entire time I used Anki as my main source of vocab acquisition, I touch on this in the thread but I think if you are really gunning for it, a high daily new card limit atleast in a short sprint can really help with your input. I did several months of 60+ new card limit on Anki.
Around Genki 2 I started incorporating different sources of input, starting with NHK easy, I would read several articles a day, before progressing to standard NHK articles. As well as easier Japanese podcasts like “Speak Japanese Naturally”. I find getting this base knowledge with grammar and vocab first (which seems like you may already have with N5 covered) really helps the process of enjoying and getting benefits of input. For kanji I used an app called Renshuu and set it to only learn the meanings of kanjis not focusing on stroke orders or readings (I believe you can pick up on readings as a consequence of learning vocab.
I did do quartet 3 and 4 but I feel at that point I couldve easily switched to bunpro and gotten a similar results (and would’ve been a lot more convienent). It was at this point I switched to doing bunpro, I put all Genki 1 and 2, as well as the quartert content at differing mastering levels so I could incorporate them at that stage. At this point I had also worked through all the free tadoku books from tadoku org. At this stage all of my vocab mining was from using yomichan and adding to my Anki deck via finding words in YouTube videos, articles or books.
I believe at around the n3 stage of grammar points and vocab coverage you should push heavy into getting a lot of input via pure Japanese content. And I would even opt to grind out learning grammar points to get to this stage before slowing down to prioritise content (increase learn limit), but that might be controversial.
For resources:
The website learnnatively is great for finding novels at different difficulties, very helpful once finished the tadoku books.
As mentioned, Renshuu for kanji, Anki for vocab, bunpro for grammar. Yomichan the chrome extension is also a godsend for vocab mining, especially as it adds the audio reading automatically.
There is many podcasts / YouTubers I listen to, off the top of my head: Bite Size Japanese podcast, akaneteki Japanese classroom,speak japanese naturally, Kensan okaeri, honobono, yuyu, Japanese with shun.

It felt like a nightmare come-true for any JLPT taker, of course I remember ! 
But not clearly enough apparently aha. At least it was a one-time occurence only, and I wouldn’t call your current listening score low either. Plenty of us would be happy to pass N3 with such a score I’m sure

Passed N5! It was also my first time taking a JLPT test. 
The listening part was the hardest part for me due to not knowing some of the words used, so I had to follow my gut about 50% of the time.

Passed N2!
Man this was much closer than I hoped. It’s the second try, the first being last december. I am a bit mystified at having actually lost a point in the language knowledge score. I feel like the test is really not reflecting my actual understanding of Japanese, but a pass is a pass, and I’ll complain more when I’ll have a 145+ score for N1. I’ll try to pass it in december, but I have no expectations to be honest. (Maybe a better score since the room will not be at 38°C+ the whole time 
)

Haha, I dare say that using your gut on listening mondais is going to be so frequent for any JLPT levels haha.
Passed my first ever JLPT, N4! The listening is WAY higher than I was expecting, and I’m seeing pretty much everyone mention that, so I’m sure they worked their scoring magic there. Definitely not complaining though haha!
If I really went for it I’d probably be able to do N3 in December, but I’m definitely skipping. Work stress does NOT pair well with daily intense studying, so I’m giving myself time to relax and review N4 material and slowly transition into N3 stuff.

Yeah, it seems that no matter how many words you know, even a single unknown word or expression WILL throw you off. I will take that in account for the future JLPT tests.

It looks like the pass mark for N5 is 80/180.

Yeah, I found that out later, too. Surprised it’s less than 50% tbh, but maybe because it’s N5? All the other levels have higher passing scores.

Will you go for N3 in july 2027?
That is the plan, yes 
But if I don’t feel ready for whatever reason, I’m going to go for December 2027 instead.

Could be thanks to the mods not banning my account (for making posts that were too funny) but probably not
Somehow got a lower score than @zoomy (very low level human, possibly Homo erectus (third in line in that evolution of man diagram))
