JLPT July 2026

J is for Japanese, the language we all love :jp:

L is for Lots of questions, which help us prove we can reach the stars above :raising_hand_woman:

P is for Perspiration, as we strive with Bunpro, hand in glove :sweat_drops:

T is for Time pressure, especially on the reading section … I mean, how can they expect you to read all that within such a tight Time limit, like, I couldn’t even do that in English, and don’t even get me started on how similar some of those options are … AAARGH! :rage:

N is for … what … ā€œNihongoā€ … ?! :ramen: … Oh wait, here we go …

5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 … :tada:

Does anyone know if JLPT happens in July in the US? Someone told me it doesn’t but I just wanted to confirm

Im feeling like I might be on track for a solid pass in July for n2 (I don’t think I passed this time, or if I did it was very low so I’d like a more comfortable pass) so I’m looking forward to the next test. It’s really handy having 6 month checkpoints to rely on to keep my study motivation up lol

So impressed by the speed at which this topic popped-up haha.
Not sure yet I’ll be game for july. First off I’ll probably be vacationing in Japan when registration happens so I’m bound to miss it, and second there is no session close to home. Just thinking of having to go to Paris for this in the middle of the summer is exhausting :joy:

So nervous, but I will be taking N2. Please kill me now.

Hoping to pass N3 in July. I’ve never attempted JLPT, but I’ve been studying for a few years, I live in Japan, and I tend to do well on standardized tests. Hopefully it goes well!

July 2026 I’ll take the N3 again and shouldn’t have any excuse not to pass!

Then December 2026 I can try N2 for the first time and see how I do for the future. :muscle:

Yeah, as today I am fairly confident in my N2 exam, I will ofc attempt N1 in the next July, the skill gap between N1 and N2 is HUGE, hope that I could somewhat manage.

Time to try the N1…again. For those that did the mock exam on bunpro and the real thing, how big did you feel the gap is between the two? For me the Vocab/Grammar/Audio section felt around the same level, but the reading section felt way easier on Bunpro.

Well, if you insist … But you still need to choose the way: A, B, C or D … :japanese_ogre:

JLPT wasn’t held this year in July, but me and a buddy took the N5 today, I feel super confident in the Vocab and Grammar, however I am crossing my fingers on the Listing, I felt like 20-30% but it was fun!

Gonna go for N2 here in july, if i manage to finish up my ā€œKanji in contextā€ book and reading a few more novels. My main thing pulling me down is my vocab, so it’s quite a long road, I think.

L is for Leiden that will hopefully let me sign up for N1 this year :upside_down_face: (I won’t hold my breath though)

Right there with you! Probably going to be full again though… like it always is :frowning:

You just need to be more creative. I’ve been using my own laziness as an excuse for not passing the N1 for a year now :man_shrugging:

Screw it, I’m going to aim for N3 in July even if I miss it by a mile. I know I’d solidly pass N4 at the moment but let’s challenge ourselves a bit. I’ve finally finished my degree now and I have the time.

Should have another Japan trip under my belt by then too, hopefully a few weeks long, so I should be able to get in some good practice.

If anything kills me in this attempt it’s going to be my listening. Need to get another Japanese TV subscription.
