JLPT N5/N4 Prep

Hi guys, I’ll be taking my N4 exam on December 7 and so have a few months to prepare for it. I’m around level 45 on Wanikani, so I have mostly gone over all of the N5/N4 vocab/kanji already but it was a long time ago and I need a refresher.

Are the decks on Bunpro dubbed JLPT N5 Vocab, JLPT N4 Vocab accurate? Did any of you try them out and saw a big overlap with what’s on JLPT usually? I know there’s no official vocab list, that’s why I’m writing this post and hoping to rely on community feedback. I’m sure a lot of you already went through the same thing I’m going through now, so I’m looking for advice

Also, I heard that some Bunpro N3 grammar appears on JLPT N4. Did anyone notice that, and if so could you guide me towards which points did you notice, so I can add them to my list?

Any good reading drills? That’s by far my biggest weakness.

Bump :see_no_evil:

It’s all based on statistics, so it’s sufficient (and actually, Bunpro offers a higher word count for each JLPT level than most other resources). That being said, it seems you already understand there is no official vocab or grammar list. We can’t really predict what will or won’t appear. If you’re reading all the sentences while you do your reviews, chances are you have already been exposed to a ton of N3 (and even beyond) grammar points and vocabulary. This amount of reading is also already enough for the N5 and N4 exams. If you really want extra practice for reading, there are always apps designed specifically for reading practice. I can also recommend Migii if you have the funds to pay for it. That way you can practice passages that are styled as they will appear on the JLPT.

There are also lots of good websites that have practice/sample JLPT questions so you can try to prep yourself with how the actual exam will be formatted, and have an idea of what difficulty you could expect. I’ll throw a few links here I’ve seen others introduce in the forum you can check out!

Thank you guys, I’ve seen jlptmatome thrown around quite frequently on reddit. I think my biggest weakness right now is reading, so I’ll focus on that by doing the full Shin Kanzen Master Reading book and refresh some vocab here and there using the Bunpro decks. Hopefully that will be enough
