I reset my account a while back to redo the basics from scratch, and started the Bunpro N5 Grammar deck fresh. The Learn queue isn’t following the deck order. Looks like it’s sorting the whole deck alphabetically by kana and ignoring the lesson structure completely.
Here’s a batch of 3 I just pulled:
- あの, header said “N5 Lesson 3: 11/14”
- あれ, “N5 Lesson 1: 7/12”
- い-Adjective, “N5 Lesson 1: 10/12”
The items I’d learned in the session before that were あげる, あそこに, and Verbs (Non-past). So across both sessions it goes あげ, あそ, あの, あれ, い. Straight kana order, picking up right where it left off. The lesson numbers bounce around (3, 1, 1) because lesson grouping isn’t being used to sort at all.
The deck page itself looks fine. Lesson 1 through 10+ listed in proper Bunpro order, Lesson 1 showing あれ, い-Adjectives, いい, か, これ, それ, だ and so on. It’s only the Learn queue that’s off.
My setup:
- Beta Mode on (Deck Page Revamp)
- Bunpro N5 Grammar is the only deck in my Learn Queue, so it isn’t multiple decks getting mixed together
- Batch Size 3, Daily Goal 6
- Web, Chrome
I went looking for a setting to change this and there isn’t one. Deck Settings only has Daily Goal, Batch Size, and Set Default Progress Level. Settings > General only has Default Deck Batch Size under New Grammar. Nothing about order.

If you’re starting a deck from zero, the order is kind of the whole point. The lessons build on each other. Would be great to get this fixed, or at least get a setting for it.
