Does the learn queue reset based on when I complete my reviews or on a regular interval?
I would like to complete the new cards for a day at the beginning of the day or throughout the day, but I find that I have to wait until the end of the day for it to reset to have new cards due.
Can the reset time be modified or controlled? Can it be manually reset for the day?
The Learn Queue resets each day. I believe it happens at midnight of your given timezone.
There is the option for Extra Study beyond this though. If you click on the Learn button, it should load another batch of items. This is also an option at the end of your initial learning session, with a note reminding you to be careful not to burn out.
If you’re speaking about the reviews, there is a setting to make them hourly instead of daily:
If you’re really talking about the “learn” items (new things you haven’t studied yet, that will be added to your review queue after you went through them once), you can change the number of items you want to learn each day, but it’s per-deck:
Be careful though, the number of new cards you learn per day greatly influences the amount of time you will spend doing reviews every day in the long run. A good rule of thumb is to multiply by 10: if you set your daily “learn” objective to 15, you should expect (a few days/weeks after choosing that number) to have around 150 cards due for review every day.
You might also be looking for Settings => Reviews => Review Queueing Timing.
There you can set it so that all* reviews turn up at 3am each day.
To clarify I am referring specifically to the learn queue not the review queue.
For me it does not reset at midnight, e.g. I complete the new items at 10pm local time on day 1 and it still shows as completed (22/22) until the evening of day 2.
Sounds like a bug to me.
My learn queue doesn’t care about the remaining reviews. After midnight, it resets the counter (from 1/1 back to 0/1), no matter what.
Besides that, you can always learn more than you have set as a daily goal as BadgerN00b already mentioned. So even if the button counter doesn’t reset for you, you should still be able to learn more.
The reset time depend on the timezone you selected in the “General” settings, did you check it was correctly set?

As @Dettorer mentioned, the Learn queue not resetting could definitely occur if your Timezone is not set correctly.

It was set to UTC-0 so not sure if I missed something during signup or if this is supposed to be set automatically. I am on iOS.
